Somehow, the YouTube algorithms that be popped up some decluttering and minimalist videos. I do not generally take the algorithm bait, but this time I did. And now I am inspired to slim some things down…clothes closet, linen closet, random piddly kitchen gadgets. Our house is not large anyway, so we could use a little bit of freed up space!
Somehow, all that started me thinking on classroom clutter. Cluttered teacher desks. Cluttered student binders and backpacks and lockers. Cluttered lessons.
Cluttered lessons. Yes, indeed.
Cluttered lessons are easy to overlook, I mean, can a lesson really be cluttered? Isn’t all the work good? Nope. Not to me; I consider anything with busywork clutter.
Busywork is academic clutter. It fills a space but doesn’t really enhance anything. It’s just there. And students recognize busywork, and they do not appreciate it.
I pride myself on not having academic clutter with my classroom resources. No busywork. No mere memorization. All critical thinking and analysis focused.
If you need to find simplicity, and clear out any academic classroom clutter, the following are, currently, my top four most popular resources for this month.

I must admit…these girls do have a cluttered toy basket. But they love their toys. So much that they tend to destroy them, so some of their toys are shells, their fluffy innards long since strewn about the house. And they still love them! Which is why some of them get to hang in as canine clutter. X)
