Several years ago, my district made the news for a quite ridiculous reason: Email ettiquite. Turns out many people just didn’t quite have it. The district sent out an email to every teacher regarding some kind of certification, you know, one of those emails that you skim and there is no need to reply to.

Except that hundreds and hundreds of teachers thought there was reason. Everyone’s email boxes exploded with hundreds of “reply all” emails. It turned into a pretty big joke with memes and videos, and though it was really rather funny, my inbox pinged, literally, for days.

Needless to say, as a teacher and frequent email user, I fully understand the annoyance of an abundance of emails. I have signed up for what I thought would be innocuous notifications only to be inundated with multiple emails from the same company in a single day!

I promise I will not do that to you. I send blog post newsletters twice a month. Maybe three if I’m feeling a little extra peppy. X)
