Under Construction!
Hello! I am in the process of renovating my site. As a result, some buttons and menus are switching around, and I am adding teaching resource content. Since I am not very savvy with this…or any technology, really…it’s a slow process for me. I am hoping to be done in the next week, but in the meantime, please be advised that everything that is clickable is not actually linked to its counterpart yet. 🤪 It will be soon though!

Sigh. Embarrassing!
I cannot believe that I have not made a post since January. How embarrassing, truly. So much for that New Year resolution! I’ve been very preoccupied over the last several months with renovating my store, Reading the Rapids, on TpT. I went through and updated my previews and covers to better show teachers what can be expected from a lesson or unit. Some of what I had listed was just from my early days of making my lessons, and what I thought was decently formatted then, now is just most definitely not. So, to make to make everything more aesthetically pleasing, and aligned design-wise, I made a lot of updates.…

Busy busy!
I’ve been busy writing an essay, which I think sounds boring, but it’s been fun and a bit cathartic. However, it’s still a week or two from complete and these little informal poems are just soooo easy! 📝🤓

Four hard working ladies! Though I don’t know why they insist on laying at the same time in the exact same spot–there is plenty of room in the roost and the nesting box that they shun! 😂🐓🥚

I’m a little late because my husband’s birthday was a couple of days ago, but I just hadn’t had the time to make his cheesy birthday poem into a nice post. It was my very cheesy gift since I didn’t have anything for him to open, but we had fun today getting lunch, wandering around our favorite antique shops and getting some amazing thrift store deals! 📝🥳🙏🏻💜 #husbandbirthday #poetry #selfpublishing #writersofinstagram #authorsofinstagram

Happy 2023 New Year!
How the years go. Three years ago my New Year’s resolution was to write every day until I had finished that woeful first draft of my novel, The Tale of the Starbreather’s Realm. It took almost all of 2020, but it was so worth it. Most of 2021 was spent editing (because the initial rough drafts were just THAT rough!) and then 2022 was largely an off year. But it is time for me to get back on this horse. Thus, again, this year’s resolution is to write something, anything, every day in order to get back into the groove. Even if it’s just with something simple like my little…

Bitter Sweet Goodbyes
I had the opportunity to work much closer to home, so I’m transferring schools next semester. There are a few students whom I will truly miss. This is my third year working with this family and the student will be out all this week prior to Christmas break, so she brought me a gift on Friday. She gave me the journal and said “Because you wrote a book!” 🥹 And I have not made time to write the past month at all, so I told her it will help kick me back into gear. Going to a new school in January will be harder since this bubbly girl won’t be…

When I was little, my mom used to always wave at the giant in this tower, and it drove me crazy because I knew there was no giant there. X)
